Gateaux
Synonymous with Irish life, Gateaux has been at the heart of Irish families for over fifty years. The brand’s delicious range of cakes has retained it’s huge popularity over the years, becoming a staple product in many an Irish consumer’s shopping basket.
In July 1949 production first began in the company’s newly built factory in what was then the country village of Finglas, Dublin. Today this small company now produces a range of over 70 different cakes, each baked in the ancient tradition with care and consistent excellence. It is now the biggest selling cake in the Irish market.
Although the brand has some cakes in the small cake markets, Gateaux is best known and loved for swiss rolls and logs. In fact they are so loved that if you added all the swiss rolls and log packs sold last year they would stretch from Dublin to Barcelona. In 2008 we aimed to reach Rome! Other favourites in the range include queen cakes, trifle sponges, battenbergs and jam tarts.
